My 8 year old son loves playing the DS and Playstation games with these characters. Last year I noticed that he was tracing these characters on paper, coloring them in and cutting them out to use as action figures. At first I thought, “this is great, very creative and he just loves acting out all kinds of adventures”…..well, then they get ripped, wrinkled or even accidentally thrown away, that’s when it is not so great anymore. I bought these because of their 5″ size, and they looked durable (unlike a lot of the other smaller figures), he totally loves them! You would think they were made out of solid gold. The size is just right, they are not easy to loose, and unlike the plush characters, they take up less space and can be easily cleaned. They are perfect to take along for car rides or when waiting for appointments. If your kids like to play the Super Mario games, they will love this set! Also, the Super Mario Chess set is great for kids who love these characters as well, and because it is a chess set, it helps engage them in strategic thinking.
